The Mount Louisa Walking Track will be closed for five days next week as Townsville City Council undertakes maintenance on the popular attraction.
Infrastructure Services Committee chairperson Kurt Rehbein said local business JMac Constructions would undertake the maintenance, ensuring the track remained in tip-top shape for the hundreds of people who walk it every week.
“Mount Louisa Walking Track is extremely popular, which is why it’s important that we get a crew up there to undertake maintenance prior to the next wet season,” Cr Rehbein said.
“Crews will be working from Monday next week to make sure the track is up to scratch, before reopening on Friday.
“Regular maintenance is essential for all of Council’s assets, which is why we are sending crews to complete these works to make sure that track is in top condition for the hundreds of people who use it each week.
“Thank you for your patience as we get this work done.”
The Mount Louisa Walking Track will be closed from Monday August 2 and reopens after 6pm on Friday August 6.
