Townsville CBD’s trendy new event hotspot will remain open for more memory-making throughout
all of 2023. Flinders Lane Owner Martin Locke has confirmed the unique function spaces will continue to be
available for private and corporate hire right through to 31 December 2023.
“We’ve been blown away by the community’s organic response to our transition to an event and
function hire location,” Mr Locke said. “Since our first private event in August last year Flinders Lane has hosted a wide variety of occasions
from corporate or business celebrations, sporting award evenings, Christmas functions, birthday
parties, university student graduation evenings and even our first beautiful and touching wedding
ceremony,” he said. “It’s proven to be a hugely versatile space and we think we are only just touching the surface of its
potential as a private and public event venue. We’ve decided to make this commitment to providing the community with some certainty around
availability for pre-bookings, particularly for those seeking a wedding venue this year.”
Event decorator and stylist Sarah Adams from Dreamscene Events said Flinders Lane provided the
perfect space to create themed dinner parties and events at what was already a picturesque venue
in a great central location. “I’ve been privileged to work with the Flinders Lane team over the Christmas party period and I’m
now officially a Flinders Lane fan,” she said. “It’s an event venue like no other in the Townsville CBD right now and offers a great combination of
indoor and outdoor spaces which also have fantastic air-conditioning and sound systems,” she said.
“The team is great to work with and I’m excited to see many more fantastic events in Flinders Lane
this year.”
On top of evening events the Flinders Lane spaces are open for day-time hire including business
meetings, children’s workshops and art exhibitions etc.
“During the coming 12 months we will continue our search for the perfect hospitality operator/s to
join the Flinders Lane family alongside our flagship tenant Annee’s Caphê Sua Da,” Developer Martin
Locke said. “Flinders Lane has been a unique project right from the beginning, as a private and public
collaboration with Townsville City Council,” he said.
