WOMENS DAY MORNING TEA
North Queensland Women’s Legal Service and the Queensland Human Rights Commission are pleased to once again host an International Women’s Day (IWD) morning tea to celebrate the achievements of the women around us and set intention together for the future!
This year’s official United Nations Women Australia theme is Balance the Scales – highlighting the urgent need to ensure fair, inclusive, and accessible justice for every woman and girl.
Despite decades of progress, barriers to justice remain deeply entrenched. One in three women worldwide will experience sexual or physical violence in their lifetime, and across Australia, conviction rates for sexual assault cases remain persistently low.
Achieving justice and dignity for every woman and girl demands collective action and systemic transformation. We look forward to gathering to hear from inspirational guest speakers and share food together as a community.
