BEHIND THE MUSIC: SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT WITH YOUTH ALIVE

This week on Sunday Spotlight, we were honoured to feature Youth Alive, Australia’s largest Christian youth movement, as they continue to release music that resonates with the next generation.

But Youth Alive is more than a band. It’s a national movement dedicated to empowering young people to know God and make Him known. Through events like Wonderworld and new music releases every year, they’re creating space for worship that feels fresh, faith-filled, and deeply personal.

Meet Ethan Beer
Ethan is the voice behind Left the 99, a powerful anthem inspired by Jesus’ relentless pursuit of the one. In his interview, Ethan shares how this song came from a deeply personal place—a testimony of returning home, again and again, to the heart of God.

“It’s more than a worship song—it’s praise for what He’s done in my life,” he says.

Hear from Eliza Bishop
Eliza co-wrote and led the recent track First Love, a reminder of the simple but profound truth: Jesus is our first love. The song was birthed during a writing retreat, flowing from Genesis to the gospel in a moment of Spirit-led creativity.

“I think the main takeaway is just returning to that childlike faith,” Eliza shares.
