This week we celebrate National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week. It’s a week for all Australiana’s to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The week offers great opportunities to learn more about our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and celebrate the oldest continuous culture on earth through events and activities held throughout the week.
We acknowledge and celebrate the Bindal and Wulgurukaba people, the First Nations people of this land and acknowledge their Elders, past and present. There are some great ways you can learn more about local culture, history and people at NAIDOC Week events here in Townsville.
Join Dan and Daz this Friday night from 6pm for a special NAIDOC week yarn with Luke Holt and Wakka Wakka woman and Aboriginal Christian Leader Brooke Prentis.
