The City Women NQ High Tea Fundraiser will bring together an afternoon of elegance, delicious treats, and heartfelt connection — all in support of women and girls across North Queensland. Hosted at the Mt Louisa Community Café, you can enjoy a beautiful spread while hearing stories of hope and transformation, with funds raised going directly toward the life-changing programs run by City Women NQ.
🎧 I got to chat with organiser Raelene McGregor about the vision behind the event, the difference it makes, and how the community can get involved. If you missed it on-air, you can listen to our conversation here:
About City Women NQ
City Women NQ began in October 2018 after a visit from Letitia Shelton, founder of City Women Toowoomba, who inspired more than 60 Townsville women to unite for change. Since then, the organisation has been standing beside women facing homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, and financial hardship.
Their initiatives include:
-
Bella – Helping girls discover self-worth and confidence through school-based programs
-
Money Management Basics – Providing financial literacy for women in need
-
Partnering with Eva’s Place, RizeUp, and The Pyjama Foundation to extend care and support across the region
Every cup of tea poured at the High Tea Fundraiser helps continue this mission — offering hope, dignity, and practical help to women and girls in our community.
