Residents in low-lying areas are being encouraged to prepare their properties ahead of king tides expected later in the week.
The king tide is expected to reach a peak of 3.81m at 9.15pm on Thursday 24 June.
Those living in or visiting areas that may be affected, including South Townsville, Railway Estate, Hanran Street and Ogden Street, should observe all warnings and road closures.
Residents should also move any valuables and cars that could be impacted by salt-water flooding if they are concerned.
Anyone driving through impacted areas should remain vigilant around flooded roads – if it’s flooded, forget it.
